Pantry Items

Most European kitchens have very small appliances, particularly, the refrigerator.  Hence, daily shopping for fresh ingredients is part of life.  Never the less, there are some basic staples that make up the cornerstone of French cooking.

From very simple ingredients come sauces, flavorings and the base of many quick and healthy meals.  The pantry should include

   -olive oil

 -dijon mustard

 -unbleached flour

-seasonal vegetables

-milk

-dried or fresh parsley, rosemary and thyme
